Today I wanted to share with you my Prototype Electric Dulcimer. This Dulcimer sounds very cool when I attach a Piezo Pickup to it. My Plan is to perfect the design. This was all done by scratch. I purchased a Plunge Router just the other day and plan to work on a cut called a Mortis Cut. that Cut is basically a Cavity in the wood. if you look at the pictures you can see where the tuners are. that cavity is called a Mortis, when done the proper way. i used my laser engraver for the pictures of the Lizards and each lizard was about 15 minutes to burn out. I also found out that, if I wanted the lazar to make the cut look 3D, I needed to place it closer to the material.
What do you all think? What a great first step towards the Future!
What else should I mention about this Dulcimer? I spraypainted it gold because I just used plain old Burch Wood. There are three Tuners on it right now simply because off a mistake I made with the width of a pilot hole. I may just keep it as a three-string instrument, because in my opinion it feels better on my fingers.
I will attach a Pickup with volume control apart of the device on the back end under the Bridge. I feel like that may be an accessible place for the volume to be dialed in at.
Anyways guys, I just wanted to share my progress.
Have a Blessed Day and ill see you soon!!!!
